The Department of Environmental Science in IAU-A started its work in 2004 by admitting AS students in Environmental Technology and MS students in Natural Resources Engineering. In 2001 the MS program in Environmental Pollution was also launched and admitted students in related sub-fields of Environmental Science such as environmental health, range management, etc. Graduates of these fields can work in different governmental organizations such as environmental offices, natural resources offices, municipalities, and agricultural organizations. Graduates can also apply for jobs in the private sector. Environmental Science is an interdisciplinary field and students of this field cover a variety of subjects such as ecology, environmental assessment, chemistry, environmental pollution, biology, limnology, and geographical information science (GIS) as their main subjects.
