The Department of Persian Language and Literature was founded in IAU-A in 1989. At the beginning, the department offered programs only for the students of Associate's degree. Soon after, however, it expanded its activities by offering graduate and postgraduate programs for students at BA and MA levels. The department endeavors to promote Persian language and literature as the country's official language and its teaching staff try to provide a favorable atmosphere for this to happen.
