Department of Islamic Studies

The Department of Islamic Studies provides services for all students. As in almost all countries, taking up some credits are obligatory for all students who get into universities in Iran and Islamic Azad University is no exception. The number of credits is twelve which are usually given to students at the earlier stages of their undergraduate studies. The courses that are offered in this department can be divided into two types: ideological and historical. The ideological courses are about the teachings of Islam and usually cover basic Islamic concepts. The historical courses are generally about the life of the holy Prophet of Islam and events that led to the spread of Islam throughout the world. Courses in this department are generally taught by adjunct professors, some of them distinguished clergies.
