The Department of Industrial Engineering set about admitting students in Industrial Production at BS level in 2005. After the countrywide aggregation of different strands of Industrial Engineering in 2010, this department started to offer courses according to the new syllabus. Also, in accordance with programs for postgraduate studies in IAU at the time, the department adopted measures to adapt itself to the ongoing developments and was able to obtain necessary licenses from the Ministry of Sciences, Research and Technology for admitting Master's degree students in Industrial Engineering. Thus far, hundreds of students have been able to finish their studies in this field and graduated from this university. At present, too, hundreds of students are majoring for their BS and MS degrees. The departmental manager is also working hard to meet the requirements of the rules and regulations in order to get the needed permissions for launching the PhD program. Strengthening the scientific standing of the department and qualitative and quantitative enhancement of its teaching staff are among the most important priorities of the department. Conformity in attempts and cross-fertilization of ideas among members of the faculty along with a sense of responsibility in doing educational, research and executive duties are but a few of the positive points that can be said about this department.
